People Pleaser

i’m a people- pleaser.
aren’t i?
i was born in this world
to please others,
yet never myself.
i will only ever nod my head,
never shake it.
i will bargain with the heavens
to make sure another person is
drenched in nothing but
savory happiness.
am i losing my sanity
amid all of my hidden sadness?
it feels as though i am
being used up
entirely,
but at the same time,
being needed is what’s
keeping me alive.
