She saw the many little eyes it had,

She thought of how her dragon would be glad.

The bug gave her an angry look,

Almost to pull her in like a hook.

Its legs stuck out,

Like fibers in a rug.

Oh, how detailed this little bug.

Her heart stretched for the way its wings fluttered,

The same every time,

Not the least bit cluttered.

She reflected on her life from it,

How long ago had she reached her summit?

Her dreams stretched far and wide,

She had hoped they wouldn't widen her pride.

The little bug looked at her,

And she thought how cool it would be dissected,

Something as extraordinary as an insect.

She said her farewells to the little creature,

Whom she loved the most.

Later than sooner she would have something to boast,

A mystery of all but the host.

She made a discovery,

And her thoughts kept wondering,

About the little bug, it cost.

This peice was written based upon a prompt my writing teacher gave me! I feel like it sums up the view that small children have for creatures such a bug!
