I Used To Like School
I sit in the cold classroom
A sweater barely keeping me warm
As I sit in the classroom
I try to focus on my work
More
And more
But I can't
I want to listen to the birds chirping
I want to write not study for some test
As my mind wonders
I remember...
I used to like school,
The buzzing of conversations down the school hall
The rumors I would hear
Knowing they were too silly to be true
Friends
Walking with friends down the hallway,
Sitting at lunch,
Eating and talking about the latest movie we’d seen
But
Its all different now
No one could have predicted what would happen
No one knew that we would miss a year of being in school,
Talking with friends
Socializing
I used to like school
Maybe I still do
All I can do is wait
So I'll wait
And see...
