Favorite Quote:
Words mean more at night

They say tears are words the heart can’t express

But why must something so beautiful - an act more intimate than a brush of lips

Be so pathetic

So shameful

Why can’t I keep them from falling

Why can’t I be strong

Why am I

Soft

Not soft as a feather

Or the tender graze of a newborn’s fingertips to yours

Or as soft and compassionate as the feelings you so desperately wish to verbalize

If the gateway to your soul rains above your quaking lap

The feelings can never come out

Can never be understood

Can never find their way out

If you’re a pathetic shameful mess

You can’t express the thoughts you wish to convey

To whisper into one’s ear

You can’t be of solace

If tears fall

The author's comments:

Tears are such a mysterious mannerism of humans. If you think about it, there is no need for us to leak water from orifices on our faces to express emotion. Crying is such an intimate act, and is often seen as a sign of being overwhelmed with sadness, anger, or happiness. So why do we feel so disgusting when we try and express such raw, powerful, gorgeous feelings?
