Dulcet Eyes
I sat Brooding in the pale of the dark misty moonlight
Dulcet eyes of the evening owls bore down on me
Stairs that burned holes in my solum shell
Murmurous whispers of the evening creatures coming to life
Surrounding me
Wobegon without recalling of a fond memory
Sprinkles of cold rain sank beneath the sleeves
Heavy from a day's labor unrelenting
Favor do not go further than you are already deep
Just beyond reach
As the warm morning suns dust began to scatter throughout the sky
Still, I sat upon the branch of the evening tree
Vestigial flickering of the light once bestowed upon me
I began to see the life I used to lead
One that once surrounded me
Now beyond reach
