A Trip to the Past
Memories…
Linger like the sweet taste of candy.
Faint, so very faint, but strong enough to remind me of my childhood’s happiness.
Swallow too soon, and gulp! The memories fade away.
But all is fine, for I have my camera.
It goes snap!
Like a fresh cracker, and records like a reporter.
Better be quick, for time is the quickest runner.
Too soon or too late may result in a bummer.
But all is fine, for the memories stay with me.
Oh to go back, I would pay any fee.
This is a poem I wrote when I was reminiscing about the past. I really miss my life before COVID-19 and high school. I wish I could just go back.
