Did I unlock my door?
Did I unlock my door?
I need to go to sleep, I need to get into bed
But what if I didn’t unlock my door?
What would happen if my door was still locked?
There would be fire, I wouldn’t be able to get out
From safety, I would be locked out
I walk back to the door, it is unlocked
1 2 3 4 5 6 7, again
Did I unlock my door?
It’s late, I need to go to sleep
But what if I didn’t unlock my door?
What would happen if my door was still locked?
A shooter could come into the house, my parents wouldn’t be able to save me
I would end up in a secluded grave
I walk back to the door, it is unlocked
1 2 3 4 5 6 7, again
Did I unlock my door?
What if I locked it when I went to check?
What would happen if my door was still locked?
My mom could die
My door should be unlocked
If I don’t unlock my door my mom will die
I walk back to the door, it is unlocked
1 2 3 4 5 6 7, again
Did I unlock my door?
I’m sure the door is locked, I mean unlocked
I mean unlocked
I’m sure my door is unlocked, am I?
My dad could get hurt if I don’t unlock my door
I better make sure my door is locked
I walk back to the door, it is unlocked
1 2 3 4 5 6 7, again
Did I unlock my door?
Did I turn the light back on five or four times?
Are my pillows an equal space apart?
Is my window locked?
Is the sink water shut off?
Is my fan on one?
Did I unlock my door?
1 2 3 4 5 6 7, again’
There isn’t enough
I can’t breathe
1 2 3 4 5 6 7, again
1 2 3 4 5 6 7, again

I wrote “Did I Unlock my Door?” to show the inside the mind of a person with OCD. It's a poem that is close to me and my struggles.
