The universe must be a teenage girl. So much darkness, so many stars.

Lullabies make me wish I were an infant again,

dark and lovely,

staring wide-eyed at my toys and my mechanical pop-up Pooh.

Lullabies make me wish I could be rocked

and have stars hung up within my reach

and naps start their guardian angels drifting to dark eyes.

Blue-green sea eyes are changing

like baby fists with fathomless nails.

Nights turn us into angels

when we are rocks and babies and bears

in caves of blankets.

Dreams define the tunnels of night.

We are all in the backseat of God’s Cutlass

and too little to open our eyes.

"It Will Be Good." (complicated semi-spiritual emotional story.)

"Upon his bench the pieces lay
As if an artwork on display
Of gears and hands
And wire-thin bands
That glisten in dim candle play." -Janice T., Clockwork[love that poem, dont know why, im not steampunk]

my favorite lullaby is 'over in kilarnee'. my dad sang it to me as a kid.
