On The Road We Ride

On the road we ride,

as far as I can imagine,

isolation, desertion, separation

The land -

not just greens,

but foremost yellows

A ground-like desert with several hills and holes,

The skinny, endless roads,

paved between either sides of the land,

made time pass slowly,

but within a few more seconds in hand,

it became a lasting memory.

I wrote this piece when I was in the car, with my family on a long road trip, going back home. My dad was just driving and suddenly, in a flash, we were driving down this long skinny road with no cars except for us, surprisingly, There was vast land on either side of us that went out in the distance, just like the road. The place we were in was just deserted. I wanted to take note of it, so I took out my notebook and wrote a poem about it.
