The universe must be a teenage girl. So much darkness, so many stars.

I am here for a tired while

with vague feelings I can’t put into words.

I am a vacuum cleaner

picking up specks of feelings like flower petals.

I am in the cracks where nobody goes.

In the afternoon, we played chess

while drunk on spiked gooseberry tea.

We played chess

while buildings crumbled

and Florida cried for the dusty skyline

before the beautiful misty sea.

Florida cried,

Florida ran after the apple sun.

The author's comments:

I wrote this after hearing about the tragic building collapse in Florida.

No. It was after. But before, creepily, I was writing a poem about how beautiful the buildings were, not knowing they would soon crumble.

"It Will Be Good." (complicated semi-spiritual emotional story.)

"Upon his bench the pieces lay
As if an artwork on display
Of gears and hands
And wire-thin bands
That glisten in dim candle play." -Janice T., Clockwork[love that poem, dont know why, im not steampunk]
