It All Starts With Me
Envisage mother nature,
shedding a tear,
shielding herself from the agony
of succumbing to this despair.
This despair was begotten by thee,
starting centuries ago,
when man discovered fire
and bullocks learned to plough.
The world faces a dire situation today,
river beds drying for good,
droughts desiccating the farmland,
trees felling for wood.
As unseasonal showers ambush the Earth,
the graveness of the situation lingers misunderstood,
We, adolescents, need to alter this,
if we fancy experiencing adulthood.
Baby steps are better than none,
realization is the key,
I initiate from my home,
it all starts with me.
An eye for an eye,
a tree for a tree,
small but drastic measures
will eventually save the country.
I vow to preserve the incandescence,
I will no longer inure,
people living in my propinquity
that make the water impure.
I plan on spreading awareness,
make knowledge my weapon,
I plan on creating an army,
to convert Earth into Heaven.
Mellow down your waste,
I remind myself daily,
Mother Nature deserves to live,
she deserves to live happily.
Greed is the devil,
it makes us indifferent to our kind,
anything we achieve thenceforth,
is weaved out of hoax and malign.
To extinguish it,
Is the only way to survive,
Hence, I embrace simplicity,
in every sphere of life,
I pledge to make the Earth,
a place lush, a place to thrive.
