The Art of Addiction
I am not addicted to drugs
I am not addicted to alcohol
And I am not addicted to playing with men for the fun of it
I am addicted to my own self destruction
I am addicted to listening to sad music even when I’m not depressed so I can cry until my tears run out
I am addicted to downing five melatonin’s and still being wide awake hours later because my mind refuses to turn off
And I am addicted to cutting off my friends when I feel myself slipping into an episode as to not burden them with my problems
But we’re all addicted to something
For some it may be drugs or alcohol
And for others it may be self destruction
It’s not a matter of what we are addicted to
But a matter of how quickly it ruins us
