Shackled in Silence
She is suffocated
Her soul wrapped in chains
Choking for life
Dragged across the mud
It’s fighting for its chance
Her thoughts silenced
Her feelings discarded
These men say she has a voice
But they crush her soul and body
This child in her cannot grow
Caught in the crossfire of her youth and errors
The guilt and regret will always be there
Under the scar of tarnished maternal love
This is a step she must take
“Forgive me father for I have sinned
Taken a life
To continue with mine”
