The carving etched into the tree.
The tree now carved with a grotesque marking of love.
The love so pure, so naive.
A proclamation that we were here.
We were here and in love.
This could be a notion about devotion
That marking it even in the deepest of trees will not immortalize it
The tree will regrow- it shall be the only one to remember your love, before it too falls.
In the end, carving it into a tree is not the way to go.
Is this a warning to not hold what is not yours?
