Paint Your Life
You are an artist.
The past is a painting,
Once brush hits paper
It can not be undone.
You are the artist
Painting your life;
You make the brush strokes.
You can add onto it,
Whenever you please.
You will never see the final painting.
I think no one ever will -
Not the whole painting at least.
But it will still be there
Paint on the canvas
Your mark on the world.
People will see it
You can choose what they see,
Covering the old brush strokes
With a new layer of paint,
But those strokes will always be there,
Under that new layer.
Forever on the canvas,
Hidden from the world.
But you can choose to hide it
Or embrace it.
Show the world,
Everyone makes mistakes.
Show the world, people can change.
With every stroke you make a choice.
With every stroke you make a painting.
What will yours be?
