In 1791 the less prosperous protested for their rights,                    

Cause the richer section was considered as almight.

Political clubs like Jacobins emerged in this protest,

They did all the things which were for the best.

They decided Maximillian Robespierre to be their leader,

And thought him to be their keeper.

This choice was a grave error,

After which commenced the reign of terror.

He followed the policy of strict control of expression,

Louis, the XIV and his wife were caught in his aggression.

Both of them were guillotined in front of the people,

After that, everyone was considered equal.

He rationed the prices of meat and bread,

And then started a new trend.

Sir and Madam were addressed as a citizen,                                   

All the people had the same conditions.  

All the citizens had to eat equality bread,

Businessmen, shoemakers, even the dead.

Peasants were ordered to sell the goods at a fixed price, 

The bread, flour or the rice.

Whomever, he thought to be the enemy of the state,

Was guillotined at stake.

He guillotined everyone without any mercy, 

Which then led to a big controversy. 

Even his supporters demanded moderation,

But he wasn't ready to listen to their explanation.

He also met with the same fate,

And everyone started him to hate.

Everyone was relieved from this horror,

And thus ended the reign of terror.
