Life of a graphic designer
Southside Hillbilly.
My dad ordered a design under this theme,
Tasking me with it’s creation.
“A three-leaf clover”, he said.
“A Stetson cowboy hat”, he said.
“Detailed, yet simple”, he said.
Oh, I wish it was that easy.
The design is simple,
The creation is not.
Each detail angled just right,
Every color must work in harmony.
His opinion being the final obstacle.
“Too light of color”, he said.
“Boots should be more apart”, he said.
Little did he know of the work it took,
For this first draft of his design.
That is the life of a designer,
And as tedious as it can get,
I love it.
It’s my passion,
My comfort,
My safe haven,
My future.

I love to do graphic design and my father requested a personal sticker design. This poem is the process and the thoughts that run through a designers head as they struggle to please a client.
