she eyed the twelve blood-red pomegranate seeds that she held. taking one last look at her wretched husband, the beautiful creature cracked open the pomegranate seeds and let them slide down her throat. instantly, the ground rattled like an Earthquake- glass objects spilling onto the glossy floor. a tremendous crack split the floor in two, and she made her way back to the wondrous earth. as she saw the last gap in the foundation-- which connected the earth and underworld--tighten, she took a deep breath and walked. walked for miles knowing that she would never have to see his cold dead eyes ever again. while she tread, a small smile crept up her face, as she could hear the wondrous screeches of him, as the skin melted off his repulsive face.

The author's comments:

This piece is inspired by my story of Persephone and Hades. I wrote a short story using both characters, and this scene represents when Persephone is finally leaving the Underworld back to Earth.
