The teenage years lie ahead
Expression becomes valid and normalized
The tool which opens the door to it
Is the gift of your dreams
A cell phone is like eyeliner
The first time you had it
You knew you would never be able to let go of it
At the age of 13
You could not leave the house without it
Once it could no longer work
You went and bought a new one
To repeat the same story again
You fed off of the comfort it would bring you
Just like a drug
Because you were able to be seen
Without having to try
