Stuck On Repeat

You ever feel like something’s missing?

I have this feeling all the time,

It’s like there’s a hole inside of me.

It makes me feel so empty.

This empty feeling consumes me,

Slowly taking over my body.

Day, by day.

I try to fill this hole with something else,

But it’s only temporary,

As this hole consumes me more.

Sometimes I wonder why I’m still here,

Why I still wake up in the morning.

It feels like I'm stuck on repeat.

Wake up,

Go to school,

Come home,

Shower,

Go to bed.

But somewhere,

Somewhere this empty feeling takes over,

Causing me to feel this need to hurt myself.

It’s almost like I can’t breathe unless I do it.

Trying to resist this urge,

It only gets stronger,

More powerful.

Tired of this feeling,

I do it.

Slice my skin,

Hurt my lungs,

Drink away the pain.

I get this feeling all the time,

It’s like there’s a hole inside of me.

It makes me feel so empty,

But I'm stuck on repeat.

The author's comments:

I struggle with this empty feeling and I'm stuck on repeat. It's kind of like a wave... it's far away then it keeps getting closer until it drags me under... then it spits me out and I'm fine, but it's just annoying because It's a never-ending loop.
