Countless Chances
Given by love
but torn by hate,
a broken heart is not my fate.
Countless times I've been hurt,
treated like dirt
and damaged.
Taken advantage of,
and trying to manage my feelings,
like the ceiling is falling down.
I'm crushed.
The person I once was is crushed
by the trust I put into us.
But now is gone
along with the bond
we once had.
But I have moved on
and improved my life.
You're now in the past.
A contrast from then to now,
somehow you show more attention
now that we have tension.
Maybe you think
we have another chance,
but based on our circumstances,
we can't advance.
