breaking up with my insomnia.
insomnia is a love story.
filled with character and emotion.
he feels pure anger and frustration.
he feels happiness and joy.
he feels alive.
insomnia is infuriating but also shockingly beautiful.
the way he makes you feel amazing but awful at the same time is gut-wrenching.
the gentle way he slow dances with you in the kitchen,
making the moonlight your spotlight,
and the moon your best friend.
He pulls you in for a kiss,
before leaving you in the forgotten cemetery of your own heart.
locking you in your mind,
just to bring you the key the next day.
insomnia is addicting, hence incredibly draining.
the same cycle repeating everyday yet it's somehow enjoyable.
insomnia is like paradise that is just out of reach.
so close you can smell him,
and hear him.
but you can't see him.
insomnia blurs your vision,
making your life seem perfect.
then he cleans your eyes out when the sun goes down.
you look around but you can't find him.
in his place was the one thing insomnia was keeping from you.
you fall out of love with insomnia,
the moment he makes you fall in love with life,
for you do not need him anymore.
or rather,
he does not need you.
even after all he put me through, i miss him in the way a little child misses their mother.
