My Endless Night
The Buzzing of the fan is more bothersome than a horde of angry bees
The courtyard light flickers as though there is a rave about to start in the woods
Silent and alone; getting angry and sad all at once; what an adventure
I tried counting sleep but that merely made me bored, not sleepy
I just wanna sleep but am bombarded with bizarre thoughts
It feels like such a waste to just sit and wait for sleep to come
I am sinking deeper and deer into a dark abyss of boredom
I cannot see where it ends nor remember where it began.
I am feeling as though I am finally about to drift off, but no
I hope in vein, I am doomed to be denied the delicious reward of sweet, sweet, sleep
