“theories of the origins of thought”
if the Romans crafted religion to explain war
then the greeks authored divinity to decipher love.
i can guarantee that it would take an entire mythology
to translate my love for you and your seraphic self.
as you stand amidst the orchard with bent fingers brushing the rinds of citrus
i wish to sculpt you in the way the Greeks did so to honor their gods
but i have no way to do so other than with words.
