Sister
I love my sister.
She was my hand to hold
on the first day of school,
someone to sit with when I was blue.
She is my moral compass
I hear her in my brain
reminding me of my principles to maintain.
She is my smile
on a stormy summer’s day
when I don’t want to play.
She is the sun
when I am the moon
and I turn dark a little too soon.
She is my hype man
my ride or die,
my wings when I want to fly.
An ode to my lovely sister on her birthday
