June 2022 Poetry Contest: The Duel
June 11, 2022
He stood there alone,
no one daring to go in his zone.
Until a lone stranger
didn't know of the danger.
The stranger challenged him to a duel.
He looked at the cowboy so cruel.
They counted down to one
and each pulled a gun.
Neither had won.
