Justice
Darkness plagues the world–
victims sob,
Evil chuckles.
A young boy was beat,
a naive grandma was cheated,
a single mother was mugged.
The boy cries,
the grandma worries,
the mother panics.
Evil has prevailed,
they think,
Justice has failed.
However,
just as they lose hope,
Justice appears.
The blinding, white
Hawk emerges and
engulfs Evil’s darkness.
The bully is suspended,
the scammer is caught,
the mugger is jailed.
The young boy smiles in school,
the grandma receives her life savings,
the single mother hugs her infant son.
Yet, the Hawk perches and waits:
listening and watching
for its next prey.
