O' Clock
leave the classroom at 2:57.
you have from 2:57 to 3:10 to get coffee.
From 3:10-3:15 to get home.
3:15 to 3:25 scroll through tiktok.
From 3:25-3:30 eat a snack.
3:30 to 3:50 clean your room.
From 3:50 to 5:00 do your math and biology homework.
From 5:00 to 5:05 change and freshen up.
At 5:05 leave your house to pick up your friend.
Leave your friend's house at 5:15 to get to your destination at 6:00.
From 6:00 to 9:00 enjoy your life.
At 9:00 leave and drop your friend off by 9:45 giving you until 9:50 to get home.
From 9:50 to 10:00 take a shower.
From 10:00 to 11:00 finish your English and history homework. And find some time to eat dinner.
But instead of doing your english homework you start writing your college essay 6 months in advance.
Leaving you with homework that takes longer than the allotted hour.
A clock.
A clock that never stops running, that never stops counting.
A clock that time does not stop.
O’ Clock why can’t you please just stop.
Now It is not only 11:22 but you’ve not even started your english homework that was supposed to be done approximately 23 minutes ago now.
Now not only are you stressed about this clock that can’t seem to stop, you realize you have to wake up at 6:15 tomorrow and that’s only if you say screw the english homework and go to sleep right now you would get 6 hours and 52 minutes of sleep.
but don’t forget on average it takes a 16 year old girl 23 minutes to fall into stage 1 of the sleep cycle leaving you with 6 hours and 29 minutes of sleep.
Meaning you can only get through approximately 4.33 sleep cycles.
Meaning you're probably going to be in rem sleep when your 6:15 alarm goes off.
Meaning you're going to be stressed you missed the best part of your dream.
How dare you mess up the clock.
How dare you get a minute off.
How dare you take a second to look through different eyes.
Maybe, just maybe one second to take a breath.
But you quickly remember that’s not how your brain works.
Your brain can’t just take a second off.
Your brain never stops ticking.
It's a clock that does not stop.
