What would I have done differently?

I can't tell the future nor correct the past,

I only have now, I only know now.

So I have no answer for now or had one for then.

I'll wish for enlightenment to strike me

So I will have an answer for you later.

"I wish."

I look down on the person wishing.

That person yearns for something.

Is it for themself? Or someone special?

Maybe the good of a stranger?

They wish and wish not knowing what will happen.

They wish and wish not knowing to whom they are wishing.

"My job is delicate."

I hand their wish off.

The young are very inspiring.

Searching for something, wanting for someone.

The old can be very enlightening.

87 years of life. 87 years of stories. 87 years of knowledge.

A forgotten old can find use in a troubled young.

A selfish serving, I know.

"Young one, do you mind?"

"Hm? No, it's all yours."

Sitting beside them, I present them with my life.

I woke up with an answer presented in my dream.

Just like that day.

It seems my wish was granted.

It is over now, what a fine wish.

Onto the next.

87 years of knowledge. 87 years of stories. 87 years of knowledge.

Given.

I will no longer be forgotten, I can go now.

We'll meet again.

I'm supposed to be asleep but I couldn't get this outta my head so here it is. Read the last lines of the old one again if you're not sure what the last part meant.
