Sticks and Stones

Sticks and bone may break my bones,
But words will devour my soul.
Words are bullets
Never missing the vital parts.
Words will tear my mind in pieces,
Cause me to go crazy.
Sticks and stones may break my bones,
But bones heal.
Bullet holes are permanent,
They never fully heal.
I will always have those scars.
Words will forever impact me.
And those scars have sculpted me.
Not all scars are ugly though,
My scar may hurt, but
They're damn beautiful.
Words will always hurt me,
But words make me who I am.

I was inspired to write this by the saying, "sticks and stone may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" because words are so powerful.
