Saving Melodies
Whenever I’m feeling blue
And stuck in my head
I know just what to do
To rid myself of that dread
I allow myself to escape
Into melodies and songs
Where my thoughts begin to lose shape
And nothing ever goes wrong
The harmonies speak to my soul
And cleanse my mind
Making me feel whole
Allowing me to unwind
The beat of the bass
Thrums in my heart
Wrapping my body in an embrace
And causing my sadness to depart
I listen to the music as it plays
And I let all of my worries wash away

I am a sophomore in high school, and I really enjoy both writing poetry and listening to music. This poem is a combination of two things that I really love!
