Eagles in Flight
From fields of battle and far beyond,
Their souls have journeyed, their bodies gone.
They were the guardians of our land,
With hearts of courage and minds so grand.
Their legacy lingers, a tale to tell,
Of battles fought and victories won,
Of selfless sacrifice and honor held,
Of lives cut short before their run.
Their spirits soar, like eagles in flight,
Above the clouds, beyond the night,
Guiding us with a gentle light,
To help us navigate life's fight.
They left behind their loved ones dear,
To answer the call, to face the fear,
Their memory lives on, year after year,
In the hearts of those who hold them near.
They fought for freedom, for justice, for peace,
For a world where hatred and tyranny cease,
For a future bright, where wars will cease,
And all men and women will live in ease.
Their names are etched on memorials grand,
Their sacrifice a symbol of our land,
Their bravery, a beacon for all to stand,
For what is right and just, with courage in hand.
