A human emotion, caused by our instincts to survive
A primal motivator, from our evolutionary drive
Yet in the modern here and now
Something many people have found:
That which used to keep us alive
Now seems to seek to prevent us to thrive.
The thing that told us to run from predation
Now stops us from giving a presentation?
A part of people, it’s existential
Now prevents them from reaching their full potential
