Drowning
Drowning can be literal or metaphorical
I don’t know which one is the worst
It could be drowning in a sea of people
Caught in your own mind
Looking for a way out but feeling like you have
An anchor on your ankles
Pulling you deeper
And deeper
Until you have to stop fighting
And you’re just there
Waiting to be saved by someone else
Or simply wishing it will end

I wrote this at the beginning of the school year in English class for our poetry unit. This was one of my favorites.
