Jealousy Is a Fearful Beast

Jealousy is a fearful beast:

Indiscriminate, manifesting in many forms

Rage incarnate, eager to strike

With seven ears, five eyes,

and a jagged iron tongue,

drenched in its victims’ blood

She once was a cuddly creature

curled up alongside the road

And along came a man

who yearned for a companion

She latched onto his arm,

and one they became

Driven mad by the sweet scent of beauty,

she lunges at anyone who dare reek of it

As the white fluffy fur sheds, coarse crimson skin shows

The man is drained of his energy

and becomes a corpse attached to the host,

unable to remember who he once was.

This is a poem about jealousy in relationships: about how a jealous partner can drain you of your energy.
