A Dream—The World
A Dream—The World
(Night one)
In skies,
Hopes birthed from love,
Laughs bathed in tears—
A dream breathed in whispers
Heaves a sigh.
From grey nights,
Stars cross and fall—
Some dreams die,
Others remain.
Silver clouds run black,
Ash drips from lips,
Fires burn and tear—
A nightmare.
The world spins anyway.
Somewhere,
Sometime,
Maybe here, maybe now
Long ago or sooner,
Someone lived and left a mark—
Someone breathed a dream,
Something started.

I’m a big dreamer; I have a lot of goals that I want to accomplish, places I want to go, and things I want to see in my lifetime. I want to leave my mark on the world and make even a slight difference in someone’s life. This poem is meant to convey my outlook on the world—how even in difficult times that seem almost nightmarish, the world continues to spin, and people continue to live in it. Even when all seems dead and gone, as long as a single dream lives on, change can happen.
