The Coldest Winter
It’s the coldest winter
you’ve known yet.
I lie in your bed under a blanket.
You hold me in your arms,
Your body carves into mine.
This is how you like me - warm, close.
You ask me if I want to be with you
And I tell you I'm not sure.
Because it’s the coldest winter you’ve known yet
And I am the closest thing you
have to the sun.
When the snow outside the window melts
and turns into spring
The heat rays will replace those of my body.
How will I know if you
Want to be with me then?
How will I know if you are
in love, not just too cheap to install a heater?
You love me in the winter and pretend that it’s hard.
