In the quiet of the night,

When the moon casts a ghostly light,

Love and death come out to play,

And dance together until the break of day.

Love, with a gentle touch,

Caresses death's cold embrace,

As death, with a bony hand,

Holds love in a tight embrace.

They waltz to a rhythm unheard,

Their steps a perfect match,

Love leads death with grace and ease,

As death follows without a single unease.

Love whispers sweet nothings,

In death's silent ear,

And death, in turn, promises peace,

As love sheds a single tear.

Their dance goes on and on,

A never-ending symphony,

Love and death, intertwined forever,

In a divine and tragic harmony.

For love, the spark of life,

And death, the end of all,

Together they create a balance,

In the cycle of rise and fall.

And so they dance, night after night,

Till the dawn breaks the spell,

Love and death, forever entwined,

In a story we humans cannot tell.

The work and thought process behind the poem “The passionate embrace of Love and Death” stemmed from my belief that life and death are basically the same thing. We tend to think of death as a taboo that shouldn’t be discussed or even mentioned, but I beg to differ. Death is a wonderful thing especially if we think of Life and Death as two sides of a coin since without Life Death wouldn’t exist and without Death Life wouldn’t have any meaning. Another must die in order for another to be given life that is the world's natural order. Yes, I understand that Death is scary but the reason we as humanity can prosper and achieve so much is because of the fear of Death without it I wonder if society would have been able to achieve and advance so much.
