My back turned
From the tinted glass door
That swings behind me every day
As I cook the best meals
That they’ve ever tasted.

They love the employees
All the sweet conversations
And they love my food even more
But every day of the week
Just seems to turn into a bore.

I still love what I do
Because it’s worth the smiles on their faces.
Still,
Nobody recognizes me
But that's okay

I too
Love the employees.
They’re always super sweet
Especially Stacy.
But I had also enjoyed Stevy
And Jessie
When they were here
They’re gone now though
We always have to get new employees
After many of them seem to quit

Stacy will be gone soon too.
But I try to cope
By making the best delicacy
with Stacy.
Her help was a huge success.
Because everyone loved the food
That no one took any second guess.

Oh, how amazed I was!
The best part of my day was watching the smiles widen on their faces
I could tell Stacy left a piece of herself on them too.
It really showed on the grins on their mouths.
Her kindness for one
But especially her good sense of taste.

I made my way
Back into my kitchen
And decided what else
I was going to cook
With the rest of Stacy’s
Dripping
Red
Body

The author's comments:

I wrote this poem about a year ago when I was 12 years old, and recently revised it slightly. I love the horror genre in writing, especially in poetry, which is why I wrote Delicacies.
