I said I never got a goodbye.
Never did I think I would get a hello instead.
I saw today
that stupid way
you flip your hair
and the V neck of your shirt.
And you’ve looked me in the eyes
barely half a time
But you need to meet my eyes.
Stare at me and tell me that you don’t miss me.
With a strong voice.
Oh, and do it without crying.
I dare you.

She came back. Physically, at least. The place she holds in me diminishes, with a half life. One day that piece will grow so utterly small, it will be as minuscule as she.
