Silent Night
Silent night
Eerie quiet
Tornado of emotion
Threatening to get out of control
But it’s not allowed to
Because it’s a
Silent night
Holy night
Forced cheerfulness
Fake smiles
Sadness threatening to
Flood me
But I can’t complain
Because it’s a
Holy night
All is calm
But only on the outside
Wildfire burning on the inside
Leaving nothing but the barest truth
But I have to hold it in
Because
All is calm
All is bright
Except for everything
An earthquake
Shaking everything from its roots
Fogging my mind up
But I can’t speak out
Because all is bright
I want to show my true self
I want to be who I am
I want to have a say in what I do.
But I’ll never be able to, will I?
Because
Every night is a
Silent night
A holy night
A calm night
A bright night.
