The ride I wished would never end
My brain agreed to the offer
of you taking me to meet your parents
and a rollercoaster of emotions were in me
Sitting next to you as you drove the car,
you drove fast, and stole my heart,
as I gazed at you from the side
Your right hand touched mine slowly
and I felt butterflies inside
even though this wasn't the first time we touched
The Ultimate John Legend hit plays in the car
and passion ignited within me,
as the lyrics made me envision us together
You begin to joke and I laugh heartily
as joy is all that you give me,
pacifying me whenever I am down
At the end of every sentence, you utter
my name in a positively possessive tone,
and I want that to go on in an endless loop forever
You stop at a traffic light and turn to me
our eyes meet for a few seconds
and the times I met you flashed inside them
I doubt my looks, my dress, my features
and you playfully tap my nose as you smile
and say, you are the most perfect girl in the world
You lied to your friends to be with mine,
I lied to my friends to be with you,
we are both liars, but it was for each other
We reach the destination and I curse the universe
as I wish, that this ride together would have
been never-ending, as I yearn for only you
You open the car door for me and my hand
fights the urge to hold yours but you make
the first move and hold mine, comforting my cravings
My heart speaks to my brain,
you love him, girl
and your world is gonna revolve around him
