The Treeline
In my calm I feel the ever growing breeze on my back
forest green surrounds my memories,
sunset orange lighting up the landscapes,
a sweetened yellow butterfly floats by as if it's welcoming me to rest.
Though past the treeline, a burnt red desert, empty and scorched
it sets my mind aflame as shaded gray blows through trailed by burning ash,
my anguish shows with the contrast of a checkerboard, bold and strong,
midnight blue clouds hide the light as it peeks through the smoke.
