Children of Christ
It takes strong hearts to follow God,
But where we lack, he sees us through.
No doubt that I am free though flawed,
For things go wrong and I turn blue.
I struggle with the will I have
Because I’m supposed to be true.
I’m filled with sin, tis’ no dispute
And when I grin, it’s not from good.
Cause I think I am very cute-
Can get away with stealing food.
But that’s not true, it’s make believe.
Need some proof? I’m all you need!
Pride makes us fall, and shout, and grieve.
When cut, you’ll find you swiftly bleed.
But do not fret, no problem here
Since God offers to save the day.
All that he asks is love and cheer.
For he’s the potter, we’re the clay.
So listen well, I’ll say it lots:
God loves you much and cares a ton
He takes your sin, unties the knots.
Listen to him and then you’ve won.
Except there is a tad bit more,
We need to do what we’ve been told
He died for us and won the war.
A life taken; as good as gold.
Thank God I’m free to be up there;
It’s not a lie, and not a heist.
For his truth is all that I’ll wear.
No longer slaves, children of Christ.
