Loss
Have you ever lost someone close to you
Lost someone who really matters
Someone who never failed to make you laugh
I have.
But what I really hate most,
Is that one person, that ONE person
Who says,
I’M SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS
It feels cheap
Like a dollar tree toy that breaks too easy
Like an arcade prize that’s kinda cheesy
Like a ball point pen that snaps when you open it
Like a shirt that doesn't fit quite right
Or a pair of shoes
that’s just a little to tight
Like a burger without fries
As easy given like a cup with no lid
I’M SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS
Those words need to be hid
Like fire on a trash bin
I give those words a goodbye bid
They won’t go
They won’t leave
So i’ll deal with it
Oh, well
That’s my pet peeve
Like water down a drain
I wish it would leave.
During the time I wrote this poem my aunt died of breast cancer. I just wrote what I was feeling and this is what came out.
