Silence
Silenced
We are told to only ‘echo’
The rules they’ve drafted
Until they infuse into our being
We must ‘submit as wives’
And yet
If we do dare to dissent
We are accused of
‘masquerading’ as man.
'Debate' is reserved
for those they deem equal
To engage in
Upon the dining table
Besides glasses of wines
We are regarded as ornamental roses
Our thorns
Being stripped away.
