Losing a Best Friend
Bounding up the slippery mahogany stairs
With a beaming smile stretched across my face
The aroma of Sunday breakfast occupied the air
My dog Bella approached me with the widest grin
I continued running until I reached the kitchen
I turned around and Bella was whining
Suddenly it felt like someone put time in fast motion
Bella started to tremble
She was crumbling to the ground
Tears were streaming down my rosy red cheeks
I couldn’t breathe anymore
My best friend was gone forever
