N’est pas ma famille
A labyrinth laid out before me
Cylindrical by nature
tall it was, white light ablaze
With walls of angelic purity
A woman stood a-guide
Showing the rooms and rooms
But white was all I saw
And white was all there was
Evergreen the leaves had stayed
Bounded by nature
But alas these leaves could not be seen
For white is all before us
Another a-lady, blond and beautiful
Stood tall against the wall
Pure white as well
A door stood near
With wondrous layers behind it
At last there was
a color not white
‘Twas purple and brown galore
A bed of violet silk
Sits atop a wooden frame
Curtains of transparent quilt
flow gently with soft aflame
Beside the bed
A train runs rampant
Around and around
It’s track
A sole window
through which you can see
The leaves you before could not
The room itself was lovely
Subtle as it was
Yet it felt not right
For it was not mine
Not mine to live within
The lady a-blonde ‘twas not famille
Elle n’est pas ma mère
Les cheveux de ma mère
Est rouge et gris
Et mon père n’est pas un femme
