My Lake
I hope I can tell them about my lake one day
The place where I went to breathe
Get sunkissed and hugged by the familiar breeze from Gale
Where I lay in its grassy hills
Watch the clouds lollygag along in the beautifully blue sky
Gaze at the water's constant ripples
And smile when it glimmers just for me
Where I first understood that true beauty lies within
Where I basked in the feeling of belonging and peace and home
I hope they ask about my lake
The place that taught me to appreciate and love and cherish its many features
The place that broke my solitude
