Trapped in the Rapids
I’m in a river,
caught in the raptures,
falling and freezing,
the water captures,
pulls my head under,
'til I cannot breathe,
then it let’s me up,
so that I might seethe,
in my anguish,
I thrash and fight,
but nobody sees me,
or my invisible plight,
it pushes me forward,
until I finally see,
that the river is time,
and I will never be free

I wrote this in a time where I was growing up against my will. Things were changing and I couldn't keep up with the clock or anybody else. At this time, the only way I could communicate my distress was by telling my mom that I felt like I was drowning.
